Participating in EuCAIF
EuCAIF is establishing a network of researchers across European institutions to bridge fundamental physics and AI research. This network aims to connect high-caliber scientists who are (i) making visible advancements in both fields, (ii) leading the scientific community in Europe, and (iii) training the next generation to drive this transformative work forward.
There are two levels of involvement with EuCAIF:
EuCAIF members. We welcome anyone involved in AI applications to fundamental physics research to become a EuCAIF member, with a special focus on young researchers at the PhD and postdoc levels. Diversity in geography and research fields is a core value of EuCAIF’s mission. To become a member, candidates must receive endorsements from two EuCAIF fellows. If interested, please contact us for more information.
EuCAIF fellows. Fellows oversee the EuCAIF initiative’s strategic direction, provide guidance, and participate in regular meetings to make key decisions, including electing management board members. Scientists based in Europe with a strong track record and high visibility in AI and fundamental physics can apply for a (renewable) five-year EuCAIF fellowship. Specific requirements include:
- International high-impact publications in their research field
- High-impact international publications in AI applications relevant to their field
- A demonstrable track record of training young scientists advancing AI in fundamental physics
- Active, leading contributions to EuCAIF activities as a member
Fellowship applications are reviewed by three independent referees chosen by the management board: one from the candidate’s field, one from a related field, and one management board member. Final decisions are made by a majority vote of the management board.
